Swanson Design Engineering is unique in its willingness and enthusiasm to work along side designers, builders and owners in the design development process. We believe that early collaboration leads to structures that make sense with respect to the architectural vision, constructability and economy.

Founder Peter Swanson came to California from Olympia, Washington in 1998 to attend California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo. He graduated from the College of Architecture and Environmental Design in 2003 with a bachelor's degree in Architectural Engineering. Peter worked at Lampman & Smith, another local structural engineering firm, from 2001 until 2008. He created Swanson Design Engineering in 2008. Peter is a licensed Professional Engineer in the State of California.
